Alex Beliaev

Investment Manager - Export Development Canada (EDC)

As an Investment Manager at EDC, Alex leads all elements of the fund investment process including business development, due diligence, engagement with fund partners, deal execution, portfolio management, and execution of trade creation strategies. Fund investments span venture capital to growth capital, and address markets that include Canada, the US, India, and Western Europe. Prior to EDC, Alex was involved in the early-stage financing of emerging clean tech companies with Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC). Within this capacity, he managed all aspects of due diligence including detailed financial, technical, intellectual property, market, management capacity and competitor assessments for Canadian small and medium enterprises. Alex also possesses significant experience working at Rolls-Royce Energy and Shell Global Solutions in new product and market development. Alex has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from McGill University and an MBA from the John Molson School of Business.
